Supermodel Naomi Campbell teamed up with Apple Music to curate a special Afrobeats playlist in honour of Black History Month. No doubt, Campbell has shown her love for Afrobeats and her support for the music industry in Africa.

Fuelled by this love, the 53 songs-long Afrobeats playlist features music from different African artistes including Burna Boy, Wizkid, 2Baba, Tiwa Savage, Joeboy, Fireboy and more.

Campbell opened up about the process behind curating the Apple Music Afrobeats playlist. She also spoke about the songs on the playlist and her connection to them. This revelation explained her vehement support of Burna Boy following the Grammys last month. Burna Boy lost to legend Angelique Kidjo who took home the Grammy for Best Album.

The 49-year-old supermodel said:

“Afrobeats makes me feel happy whenever I hear it. People just go to another level; it makes you want to dance and move.

“Burna Boy’s “Anybody” and Wizkid’s “Joro” are songs that give me feelings I can’t get elsewhere. I love the sound of “Anybody”. I love the live sound of the band and Burna’s voice on top of it. It’s a new sound but it sounds like live music, which is rare these days.

“I’m all about rhythm and bass, and I love the slow build of “Joro”. It’s a s**y, deep, sensual song, like it’s moving forward to reveal something from inside.
