American Gospel rapper Kanye West and his Sunday Service Choir have released a new album titled “Jesus Is Born”, and it’s right on schedule.
This came as a surprise because Ye’s last album, “Jesus Is King”, which precedes this one was released in October 2019 after a series of delays. It was about the same time that he announced this new album will drop on Christmas Day.
“Jesus Is Born”, a more traditional approach to the gospel, features 19 tracks. This is unlike “Jesus Is King” which brought in elements of hip-hop and electronic music. There are also gospel versions of songs from his back catalogue like a cover of “Ultralight Beam” and other songs that have featured at his various Sunday Service sessions throughout 2019.
Jason White, the Sunday Service choir director ahead of the release of Jesus Is King, said:
“What I’m thinking is gonna be a week or two, now I’ve been in the company of Kanye West for the last 10 months. I’ve spent every Sunday riding with him.”

In October, Kanye West first teased the album when he told Zane Lowe in an interview for Beats 1 that “Jesus Is Born” was coming.
West became more vocal about his faith journey this year. While working on “Jesus Is King,” the rapper even asked collaborators not to engage in premarital s*x while involved with the album. There was also an issue where he told his wife, Kim Kardashian, to dress less s*xy. This subsequently caused great controversy on social media.
While he used to rap extensively about that subject, West seems to be a changed man. Nevertheless, the rapper also came under fire from fans in recent times. In 2018, he came out in support of Donald Trump, and he also called slavery a “choice”.
