Beyonce’s “The Gift” album came out with a bang on Friday, 19th July 2019, and the track “Brown Skin Girl” is what everyone seems to be talking about.
In the Lion King-inspired album, “The Gift”, “Brown Skin Girl” seems to have a sensational unique factor. Ever since its release, there has been a frenzy, and we know why. “Brown Skin Girl” is a track that praises the African skin. In the track, it’s evident that Beyonce is also encouraging her daughter Blue Ivy to embrace her brown skin.
The song is a four-minute upbeat ode to black women. It features artists like Wizkid, SAINt JHN, Beyoncé’s seven-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, and Queen Bee herself. It has quickly become a favourite all over the internet with his lyrical praise to African beauty.
Beyoncé praises some “brown skin girls” in Hollywood in the first verse. While giving a shout out to Lupita, she also gives a nod to Naomi Campbell and Kelly Rowland.
“Pose like a trophy when Naomis walk in / She need an Oscar for that pretty dark skin / Pretty like Lupita when the cameras close in / Drip broke the levee when my Kellys roll in.”
The Oscar winner, Lupita Nyong’o, couldn’t curtail her excitement either. The actress shared the cutest video of herself dancing to the song giving such black girl joyful vibes.

“Brown Skin Girl” isn’t the first time that Nyong’o has gotten a musical shout out from the Knowles-Carter family. In 2016, she received a similar shout out in Jay-Z’s famous “We Made It” freestyle. The US star is definitely a brown-skinned diva!
