“It’s gonna be different, of course, without our King to go back into that world, but I know that all of us are dedicated to re-imagining or carrying on his legacy in this new Black Panther, and director Ryan Coogler has some really, really exciting ideas that I look forward to bringing to life with the rest of the family,” the actress revealed.

News reports in November 2020 revealed  Black Panther 2 will not use a digital double for the late Chadwick Boseman. Executive producer, Victoria Alonso strongly denied the rumoured digital appearance in an interview with the Argentine newspaper Clarín.

“No. There’s only one Chadwick, and he’s no longer with us. Sadly, our king has died in real life, not only in fiction. We’re taking a little time to see how we continue the story and how to honour this chapter of what has unexpectedly happened to us. So painful and terrible to be honest. Chadwick wasn’t only a wonderful human being, every day of the 5 years we spent together, but also, I believe, that what he did as a character elevated us as a company, and has left his moment on history,” Alonso said.

Chadwick Boseman died in August 2020 at age 43 from colon cancer.
