Nigerian Developer, Luthfulahi Oseni designs an App that allows Nigerians to find all 109 Senators, and text them. On the back of the ongoing protest against the passing of the Social Media Bill in the Senate, Oseni turns up with this much-needed Application. The #StopSocialMediaBill movement continues.
All through last week, people have been voicing how the proposed bill is a violation of their rights. Up until now, only Senator Chimaroke Nnamani has spoken against the bill in the open. Meanwhile, more senators are supporting the motion. This makes it more paramount that more people keep talking about it.
After a developer himself, Prosper Otemuyiwa suggested that someone come up with an app that makes it easier to reach Senators, Oseni replied with one. The inquisitory tweet said:
Naija Developers 👋🏿
Someone should turn this into a simple mobile web app.
– Search by Senator name / district to get their info easily
– Send text message via the app ASAP
– Go further to provide template messages to be sent to avoid stressCan be done in less than 2hrs https://t.co/vjcCuf4laT

Prior to this development, only a few people ever bothered to know how to contact their Senators. This is important because Senators should be more accountable to people in their constituency. Now Luthfulahi Oseni has posted a link to his app, see it here:

The App can search any senator and it comes with options to either send an email or a text message. Also, the top page has some ‘top’ senator’s contact details on it. However, there is some work to be done. According to reviews, some spellings are wrong and some contact details are mixed up.
But despite the corrections (which the developer is putting in place), this is a good innovation. It is not yet available for downloads and we keep our fingers crossed.
Now, Nigerians can get in touch with their Senators and let them know their minds on many issues. If you have checked out the App, share your experience in the comment section.
