We are in the era of maternity photoshoots. Celebrities and expectant mothers usually take these professional photos to preserve memories.

In Nigeria, expectant mothers usually wait until they give birth until they release the photos on social media. This is because they don’t any want “evil eye” to look at their pregnancy. This “evil eye or intentions” can result in miscarriages or complications in the delivery of the baby.

American musician Cassie Ventura recently released photos from her maternity shoot. Tennis player Serena Williams and Grammy award-winning musician Beyonce all released their maternity shoot when they were pregnant.

For Tboss, her pregnancy came with a lot of controversy and rumours that she was pregnant for TV presenter Uti Nwachukwu. She refused to make a public statement until photos of her baby bump went viral on the internet.

So what’s the craze about maternity shoots? Are we taking after foreign celebrities who, by the way, don’t go completely n*de for such shoots?
