US rapper Megan Thee Stallion ‘suffered gunshot wounds’, injuring a foot in a Sunday outing. The “Savage” superstar said she’s “thankful to be alive” in the wake of being shot at. However, she has given little details of her wounds or how they occurred.
A video surfaced online showing the chat topping star bleeding from her foot after police stopped a car with her and Tory Lanez in it. Lanez was found with a concealed weapon and arrested.
Driven to the hospital by police officers, Megan underwent surgery to remove the bullets. She is expected however to make full recovery.
The Texas-born rapper, real name is Megan Pete, topped US chart in May with her hit song ‘Savage’. The track became a viral sensation on lifestyle app TikTok. ‘Savage’ also reached number three in the UK, thanks to a remix featuring Beyonce.
She was recently celebrated as the best female hip-hop artist at the just concluded BET Awards.

Megan took to Instagram on Wednesday to, as she calls it “set the record straight”. She wrote, “On Sunday morning, I suffered gunshot wounds, as a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me.”
She continued “I’m incredibly grateful to be alive and that I’m expected to make a full recovery, but it was important for me to clarify the details about this traumatic night.”
“This whole experience was an eye-opener and a blessing in disguise. I hate that it took this experience for me to learn how to protect my energy.”
Police officers had reacted to reports of shots fired at about 04:30 PST (11:30 GMT) on Sunday. The Los Angeles Times cited the LA Police Department saying an individual was taken to the emergency clinic “with a foot injury” injured by broken glasses at the scene. A video posted by TMZ showed the rapper limping out of a vehicle, leaving blood marks from one foot on the ground.
