Mercedes Benz has teased a sporty concept car that is solar powered, the Vision EQXX electric car. The German automaker claims this vehicle is capable of more than 1,000 kilometres / 648 miles on a single charge.
Now, that is quite some impressive numbers for an electric vehicle. The only brands close to those figure is the Lucid Air with 520 miles and Tesla’s Model S Ling Range Plus with 402 miles.
One polarising feature of the EQXX is its solar roof with 117 solar cells, the automaker says it can add up to 25km of range in a single day. This would be rivaling the budget Sono Motors solar car.
The sporty car was unveiled virtually at the 2021 Consumer Electronics Show event happening in Las Vegas. How is it that the Vision EQXX can go the 1000km range? Mercedes says that the car has improved areodynamics and an efficient car battery technology.

Riding on a bespoke electric car platform, the concept car has a futuristic-look design with cool lighting. Mercedes Benz has not released any information concerning its battery size or performance.
We are certain it wont be lacking in the performance segment as it would rival Telsa Model S Plaid, Porsche Taycan and even the furustic Tesla Roadster. Mercedes is certain of the Vision EQXX range, saying it is “completely realistic.” Also, it says that many of its technology would be available in future electric cars through its Modular Architecture.
