Meta Quest Pro VR headset launched on Tuesday with high-end specifications, all of which are powered by the Snapdragon XR2 Plus Gen 1 chip.
Compared to the chip powering the Meta Quest 2 headset, this one offers 50 percent better-sustained power and 30 percent better thermal performance.
With a pricing of $1,500 (more expensive than the iPhone 14 Pro Max), the new mixed reality headgear has been touted as a major improvement on the former Meta offerings and a step ahead of what is available in the market.
While it remains bigger than regular sunglasses, the Meta Quest Pro manages to be lighter than usual. Which is because the weight is more even distributed.

Sadly, the gadget features a much smaller battery, which has a lifetime of just two hours (or even less) on a charge. It is even worse that it takes as long as that to charge. And although the chipset promises to get the best out of the battery life, there is doubt that users would welcome the idea of charging it all the time.
The headset comes wit a 12GB RAM and 256GB memory space. Its display offers 1800 x 1920 pixels and 90Hz refresh rates, per eye.
The company designed it to allow users some peripheral vision to make it usable in slightly public spaces. However, if you are in a safe place, you can add rubber blinders or a full-face ring to restrict the amount of light you let in and go full-on VR.
Meta also redesigned the controllers, adding rechargeable batteries, a USB-C port, etc.
Perhaps, the biggest upgrade is the eye, face, and hand tracking technology that the company fitted into its new VR headset.
