In a Twitter post today, 13th July 2020, the Xbox official handle announced that Microsoft Flight Simulator for PC will launch on 18th August 2020. The announcement came with a video showing the game’s high quality.

The Verge reports that Microsoft has been running tests for the Microsoft Flight Simulator ‘in recent months’. According to Xbox’s blog, buyers can start to pre-order for the game already.
Microsoft Flight Simulator has been running for 38 years, since 1982, and this latest release is alleged to be ‘the next-generation’ version of it. It will come with day and night flight modes that also brings real-time weather reports.
The game’s description page says that the developers designed it to give accurate ‘wind speed and direction’ readings. Also, these weather reports will contain temperature, humidity, rain and lighting.

The latest edition of the game will also have ‘instrument guidance and checklists’ that match your capacity. Thus, it will be appealing to both beginners and professionals as well.
To give it a more realistic feeling, gamers will encounter, “over than 2 million cities, 1.5 billion buildings, real mountains, roads, trees, rivers, animals, traffic and more.”
There are three pricing schemes for the Microsoft Flight Simulator. The standard edition costs $59.99 while the deluxe edition will sell for $89.99 and the premium deluxe edition is priced at $119.99.
What differentiates each edition is the number of planes and airports that each has. For example; the standard edition has 20 planes and 30 airports; the deluxe edition has 25 planes and 35 airports; while the premium deluxe edition has 30 planes and 40 airports. It will be free for those already on the Xbox Game Pass for PC (beta) programme.
