Xbox xCloud service which comprises of its Cloud gaming and Remote play is now officially available on windows via Xbox app. Initially in testing for its beta insiders, this service is now available publicly. Intending users of cloud gaming service need to be Xbox game pass subscriptions in order to use it.
Gamers can now plays Xbox games through the cloud just like Google’s stadia platform. It has now made a swift jump from availability on web browsers to an actual native app. Xbox remote play on the other hand; allows gamers to stream their games from their consoles to a windows external machine.
Interestingly, you will need to be on the same network as the games with your external Microsoft machine. Additionally, these games can be streamed at a high resolution of 1080p at 60fps. There’s also backward compatibility for certain games according to Microsoft.

Microsoft said it’s “xCloud” will soon be available on your Windows PC via the Xbox app. Although this feature is in testing for its Xbox insider program some months ago.
The revamped Xbox app now has xcloud baked in. This new web-based gaming platform can only be accessible using a compatible controller. The controllers are either connected via Bluetooth or USB to play games from your Windows 10 PC.
Jason Beaumont, Partner director of Xbox experiences said during the announcement that:
“We’ve also added some new features to help you get started, including easy-to-access information on controller and network status, “social features to stay connected with friends, and the ability to invite people – even those also playing on cloud without the game installed – to join you in a game,”
Finally, its xCloud and remote play features are now available publicly through its Xbox app to gamers. Microsoft still labels it as Beta, so some features might not work depending on your region.
