Panos Panay has earned a promotion as he now currently advises CEO Satya Nadella. This is according to a report by Bloomberg, the Head of Windows software and devices team is now part of Microsoft’s Senior Leadership Team.
Originally, the Redmond-based company’s Chief Product Officer is steadily moving up the ranks. He headed the team that has been designing the Surface lineup that includes tablets, hubs, laptops and ultrabooks.
While for Windows 11, he is leading the team behind Microsoft’s newest operating system.
Also moving up the leadership position is CEO Satya Nadella, the company’s CEO Satya Nadella now doubles as the chairman. This is the second time, the company’s CEO doubles as its Chairman after Bill Gates stepped down from management.
Satya Nadella took his first Microsft job as Azure CEO on February 4th, 2014; Stever Ballmer retired, and Bill Gates also stepped down as Chairman. Satya Nadella’s success as Microsoft CEO has earned him the chairman role.

Bill Gates left the entire Microsoft board in 2020, the Verge spoke to Nadella in 2018 about how he intends to change Microsoft. The company’s CEO emphasized that Windows was not the future of the company, but Cloud services.
We can see the differences in Microsft as Nadella took the reins, PC sales turned around in 2020 right after Microsoft stopped support for Windows 7 and big growth likewise yielded in 2021.
Redmond’s Microsoft will be releasing its next generation of Windows operating system “Windows 11“, a better and cleaner UI.
Microsoft has an ongoing concern to remain relevant in this ever-changing technology space, Satya Nadella has been appointed, unanimously elected to lead and oversee Microsoft progression in the coming years.
