Nigerians on social media are calling out music artiste Naira Marley over his insensitive comments on Coronavirus.
Naira Marley earlier today posted on his twitter handle, asking his followers to retweet if they didn’t believe in Coronavirus.

Some followers retweeted implying they didn’t believe. However, majority of Nigerians have lambasted the “Jo soapy” crooner over the tweet. They expressed their disappointment over his disposition on the virus.
His comment has been termed misleading and dangerous giving his large following and consequent influence.

Nigerians cautioned him caustically, asking that he act responsible.They blasted him for not using his platform as an entertainer to sensitise his fans.

Naira in turn responded in a video asking Nigerians to mind their business. He insisted he stated he didn’t believe in coronavirus and it was his own opinion.

Naira Marley rose to fame in 2019 after his much publicised arrest by the EFCC for alleged internet fraud. The singer quickly garnered sympathy from the general public.
This soon transformed to a large fan base and following. His single after his release from prison “jo soapy” became a smashing hit. With controversial lyrics and a lewd dance step to go with, the song rocked the airwaves and Naira trended non-stop.
His fans soon culled the name “Marlians” and proudly expressed their love for him and his music.
With his recent outburst and subsequent “dragging” on social media, can it be said the singer has lost favour in the eyes of his once adoring fans?
Amidst all, the Lagos state government today recorded five more cases. This brings the total number of cases in Lagos to 25; the state with the highest cases so far.
