Recent leaks have suggested that Apple will announce four new iPhones later in 2020. Reports are now increasingly rife that the smallest of the new phones will be named the iPhone 12 mini.

This is the first time a mini is being introduced to the iPhone range. However, we’ve seen mini Apple products like the iPod mini, iPad mini, and Mac mini. Therefore, it’s not exactly a new thing to Apple Inc.

Established Twitter leaker, @L0vetodream, had earlier suggested that the four new iPhones would be named iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Another leaker, @duanrui1205, tweeted images showing Apple’s ‘silicone case stickers,’ with names and hand-labeled screen sizes. The images match previous rumors of the sizes and specifications. The photo shows three stickers with handset sizes written alongside them. The line-up is as follows:

— Apple iPhone 12 mini — 5.4-inch screen
— Apple iPhone 12 — 6.1-inch screen (like the iPhone 11)
— The iPhone 12 Pro — 6.1-inch screen (presumably with higher specs)
— Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max — 6.7-inch model (larger than the iPhone 11 Pro Max)

The image also reveals new Apple model numbers. These model numbers, in the image, include ‘MHL732M/A’ and ‘MHLG32M/A,’ both of which Apple has never used before.

Reports have revealed that Apple plans to introduce the iPhones in October 2020 and will start shipping them in the same month. However, the rumors also suggested a staggered release, and some models might not ship until November 2020.
