Warner Bros recently posted a tweet announcing its new CEO. They announced BBC Studios Americas president Ann Sarnoff as their new head. This is the first time a woman will ever take a lead role in the company.

Sarnoff will replace former CEO Kevin Tsujihara following his resignation in March. He had been accused of having a s*xual relationship with an actress in exchange for music roles.

After the recent appointment announcement, Justice League fans immediately responded to the tweet by asking Sarnoff to release the Snyder Cut. This refers to a rumoured Zack Snyder’s director’s cut of Justice League which may not actually exist.

A lot of the responses to the tweet had the hashtag, #ReleasetheSnyderCut. Snyder had had to leave the Justice League production unfinished after he had a family tragedy. The director of Avengers, Joss Whedon, then had to step in for reshoots.

The final theatrical release was, however, not very popular among fans. They felt Snyder’s vision was not followed and it was not well executed.

Fans have since been waiting for a release of the director’s cut they hoped would hold more of Snyder’s vision.

Interestingly, fans had raised over $24,000 in an effort to raise awareness about Snyder’s efforts. Justice League was an unexpected epic failure at the cinemas.

Nevertheless, it inspired Warner Bros studios to focus on telling single superhero stories of Shazam and Aquaman.
