The world’s most expensive footballer, Neymar, is caught up in an ongoing r*pe allegation. Brazilian model Najila Trindade accused him of r*pe and assault.
Trindade also filed a r*pe claim with the police in Sao Paulo last Friday. She claimed the r*pe assault occurred last month on 15th May 2019 in a Paris Hotel after the pair met on Instagram. When asked if what happened with Neymar was an assault or r*pe, she said it was “an assault together with r*pe”.
Neymar vehemently denied the allegations and insisted she was trying to blackmail him. In an attempt to further defend himself, he posted their WhatsApp messages. The messages revealed intimate chats and photographs exchanged between the pair. Subsequently, Rio de Janeiro’s cybercrime division currently runs an investigation on him for posting images of the woman on social media without her permission. They did this in an attempt to prove his innocence.
This, in turn, led the 26-year-old Brazilian model to go public on Brazilian television. She insisted that “I was the victim of r*pe.” She claimed to have suffered bruising in her bottom as well as traumatic stress.
On how they met
Ms Trindade explained that they had met on Instagram. She explained that she was an ordinary person — “a model and a student of interior design” and a “daughter and mother”.
She was attracted to Neymar and wanted to have s*x with him. “It was a s*xual intent, my wish. It was clear to him,” she told SBT. The Brazilian model had shared her financial and work restrictions, and the footballer had flown her to Paris, all expense paid. He had also paid for a room in the Paris hotel.
Then she explained that when she met him, he was “aggressive, totally different than the boy that I got to know through the messages”.
On the assault
During the interview, she explained that she was initially prepared for consensual s*x but demanded the use of a condom.
“I went to the hotel. He sent me a message. He said he was going to a party, but he would come over and give me a kiss. When he got there, everything was fine, but he was aggressive, totally different from the guy I met in the messages,” she expressed.
Following this, she found out that he didn’t have a condom. According to her, he refused her demands to not have s*x without one and then became aggressive again and r*ped her.
“He said no. I said that then nothing would happen, that we could not. He was silent. He turned me around, committed the act. I asked him to stop,” she added.
To further avail herself, she released a video which she reportedly filmed in the hotel room the next day after the alleged r*pe. In the video, she is seen fighting with the Paris Saint Germain striker in a Paris hotel room. The video was shown on the Brazilian channel TV Record.
The video shows the pair on the bed, after which Ms Trindade stands and begins slapping the man. Neymar, in an attempt to defend himself from her attack, uses his feet to shield himself.
You can clearly hear the conversation.
Neymar can be heard saying, “No, no, no, don’t hit me, no.”
Then Ms Trindade says, “No? You’re going to hit me, right? Aren’t you going to hit me?”
After this, she continues striking him and then throws an unidentified object at him.
She yells: “I’m going to hit you. You know why? You know why? Because you assaulted me yesterday. You left me here on my own.”
The Police’s “Every Breath You Take” can be heard playing the background.
According to Ms Trindade, she had returned the next day because she wanted justice after the r*pe. She had filmed the scene by playing her phone in the bathroom.
Neymar Santos Sr, his father, defends him
The footballer’s father Neymar Santos Sr told Record TV about the attack,
“I don’t think I have to defend my son at all. The images speak for themselves, and it’s clear this is a video that is forced. The video is only going to show that Neymar was assaulted. She provokes aggression so that he responds, but he realises that everything that was happening was a set-up. When my son enters the room, everything is already being filmed. It would be good for the investigation and for us that the whole video emerges. That’s what the police are trying to do, find all the images that she has.”
Neymar has confirmed the two encounters with her as true, but he denies any wrongdoing.
