The National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) has explained its reason for suspending the screening of the film, “Sugar Rush”.
The suspension of the film, which hit cinemas on the 25th of December 2019, has since become a trending topic on Twitter. Twitter users clamoured for the return of the film in cinemas, saying #BringSugarRushBack.
NFVCB took to its Instagram page to state why the film was suspended. They stated it was because the temporary approval given for the film exhibition has expired.

The Executive Director of the Board, Adedayo Thomas, took responsibility for the final approval of the movie. He explained in a statement that he was preoccupied with extant responsibilities.
Now that NFVCB has given an explanation, Nigerians can’t wait to have “Sugar Rush” back to the cinemas. “Sugar Rush”, since its release has enjoyed beautiful reviews from those who have seen the film.
