Kenneth Petty, husband to American superstar rapper Nicki Minaj may be going to jail for ten years for failing to register as a s*x offender in the state of California.
In a virtual court hearing on September 9, Petty pleaded guilty to failing to register as a s*x offender in the state of California. He now faces up to 10 years in jail which is the maximum sentence for the crime. His due to be sentenced on January 22, 2022.
According to his indictment reports, Petty moved from New York City to California in July 2019 but failed to register as a s*x offender within five days as stipulated by the law.

His troubles with the law began when he got pulled over by the police in Beverly Hills in November 2019. His records were pulled up and authorities found that Kenneth Petty had not registered as a s*x offender in California. He was eventually released on a $20,000 bond.
In 1995, the police arrested and jailed him for first-degree attempted r*pe at age 16. He served almost 4 years in a New York state prison for the crime.
Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty got married on the 21st of October 2019. She has faced criticism over their union but has defended her choice time and again.
According to TMZ, Petty is suing the state of New York and its Criminal Justice System to have his name permanently removed from the s*x offenders registry.
