Nigerians have summoned cancel culture on popular YouTuber and makeup artist Ronke Raji for not lending her voice to the #EndSARS protest.

Since the ongoing nationwide protests calling for the end of SARS, several celebrities both local and international have shown support for the movement. Falz and Runtown led the first massive protest. Tiwa Savage, Wurld, DJ Spinall, BBNaija’s Tasha Akide, and Alex Asogwa, and a host of other celebrities also joined in different protests since October 8th.

International celebrities including Arsenal Footballer Mesut Ozil, Kirk Franklin, Sean Combs Aka P Diddy, Cardi B, and others also joined the struggle, using their platform to amplify the #EndSARS hashtag.

However, Ronke Raji curiously said nothing. Neither did she share or retweet any #EndSARS content on her pages. Ronke Raji

When people called her out for that, she said she didn’t feel like it was all about posting.

However, Nigerians were not having it.

They criticised her heavily and went on unsubscribe from her channel. Ronke obviously feeling the heat, took to her Instagram to post a short story about riding bicycles in Nigeria. She added a photo of herself sporting her lowcut, edited in her usual brown sepia.

Angry Nigerians however felt she said was too concerned with keeping her page aesthetically pleasing and literally has not said anything noteworthy.

In the same vein, they’re criticising other influential Nigerians in the diaspora including YouTuber Jackie Aina, actress Luvvie and HBO’s Yvonne Orji for not giving the same energy to #EndSARS as they did to the Black Lives Matter protest which took place earlier this year.
