Nigeria’s Chioma Nnadi Becomes The New Editor For Vogue

Another big win for Nigerians in the Diaspora; Chioma Nnadi has been made editor of Vogue.Chioma Nnadi

Anna Wintour announced on the 21st of September that Nnadi is now in charge of Vogue’s online portal, Vogue.com.

“I am so thrilled that Chioma will be the new editor of Vogue.com,” Wintour said in a statement released by Fashionista.

“Above all, we know her as someone who intuitively understands fashion and brings to it a genuine love of discovery. She looks in unexpected places and all over the world to find out who is doing the best work and who we should be celebrating now. I absolutely rely on her eye and her cosmopolitanism and her taste. Even better, she is forward-looking and understands that Vogue needs to reach new audiences and do so in new ways.” She finished.

 

Nnadi on there Instagram wrote; “Super excited for the road ahead in my new role as editor of Vogue.com 👡👡

Nnadi comes with an impressive portfolio having worked with vogue-woned Condé Nast since 2010. She started off her career writing features for Evening Standard Magazine, in the community where she grew up in London.

She was first a fashion writer for Vogue magazine, before becoming fashion news director of Vogue.com in 2014. In that capacity, she worked closely with the famous creative Sally Singer, creative digital director for Vogue until the latter’s departure late last year.

 

Before that, she was the style director at The Fader. She has also worked with Trace, an independent style magazine.

 

In her new position as Vogue.com editor, she’ll oversee and optimise Vogue’s digital content. She will also be responsible for driving traffic to the website. Vogue.com currently has an average of 13 million monthly visitors.
