In a press release, high-end apparel maker Nike announced launching a Web3 platform called .Swoosh. It will allow users trade virtual shoes, clothes and more.
Although the company did not reveal many details on what the platform would look like, it boasted that one day you may be able to use its assets as wearable items in digital games and more. This is in tune with what Mark Zuckerberg said about launching a digital store in the metaverse for avatars.
Nike is making a big bet in the crumbling world of digital assets, although, it appears that the platform has been in the works for sometime and it would make no sense to delay its launch further.

The apparel maker had acquired Web3 company RTFKT Studios in 2021 and likely, that was when it used its architecture to build .Swoosh. RTFKT Studios used to make NFTs and sneakers for the metaverse.
The company says that you can start signing up on Friday, November 18. However, Nike .Swoosh would only start showing digital collections in January 2023. Creators will have the chance to enter a community challenge that earns them the opportunity to co-create virtual product with Nike and earn sales royalties.
“We are shaping a marketplace of the future with an accessible platform for the web3-curious. In this new space, the .SWOOSH community and Nike can create, share, and benefit together,” Ron Faris, the vice president of Nike Virtual Studios, said.
