The Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecution says it has begun steps to begin prosecuting Nollywood actor, Yomi Fabiyi, for contempt of court over airing controversial film “Oko Iyabo”
The Lagos State Director of Public Prosecution Olayinka Adeyemi told an Ikeja Special Offences Court that Fabiyi produced a movie a shared to the internet a movie based on the facts of a case which is still consideration of the court.
Recall that actor Baba Ijesha real name Olanrewaju Omiyinka is currently on trial for six-count charges. They range from s*xual assault and s*xual penetration.
The DPP told the court that Yomi Fabiyi, a supporter of the disgraced actor disregarded the directive of the judge on June 24th and revealed sensitive information on a case that’s still on trial.

The DPP said on Monday, July 26th in court, “Despite the warnings of this honourable court, an actor called Yomi Fabiyi went ahead and made a movie about the facts of this case.
“He used real names of the parties and witnesses in this matter in the movie. Our application is to exclude him, his privies, and his agents from proceedings in court.”
“He is not in court at the moment but his representatives may be in court. This is contempt of court and we intend to prosecute him and bring him before this court.”
The Judge has ordered an investigation into the issue.
Yomi Fabiyi had re-enacted the scene where Baba Ijesha was caught on CCTV trying to molest the 14-year-old. However, in the film, Fabiyi portrayed Baba Ijesha as the girl’s lover, a narrative he’s been working hard to peddle since the news broke
He also named it “Oko Iyabo” trolling Iyabo Ojo who they’d a fight over the issue. He used real names as well such as the alleged victim foster mother’s name, Comedienne Princess.
