Nigerian afrobeats star Omah Lay and global pop star Justin Bieber have a song coming.
Omah Lay announced the incoming collaboration with the international singer via a suggestive post via his social media on March 1, 2022 writing;

Omah Lay’s story is one of fast rise to fame and influence, one he’s shown he duly deserves. The 23-year-old Port Harcourt-born singer shot to prominence with his debut EP “Gey Layd” in 2020, a project which soon garnered millions of streams. Seizing the moment, Omah Lay soon followed up a new EP “What Have We Done” solidifying his place in the industry. He also won the “The Next Rated Award” at the February 2021 Headies.

In January 2021, Omah Lay sat with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on an episode of “Rubbin’ Minds” where he talked about moving to Lagos in 2019. He also talked about his career blowing up during the pandemic and how he handled not being able to do so much at the time.
About his sudden growth in the industry, he said “It was shocking actually, but that had always been the dream. Had plans to take things slowly but you know, it just happened the way it happened and I’m grateful man.”
He released his single Understand in July 2021 which again dominated the airwaves.
Meanwhile, Justin Bieber has collaborated with several Nigerian singers. The International popstar featured Burna Boy on his song “Loved By You” off his “Justice” album. He also remixed Wizkid and Tem’s “Essence” in 2021 breathing further global popularity to the song.
