Oppo’s Inno event day is next week and the company is teasing a new camera design for its smartphones. This “Self developed retractable camera” was shown on the company’s Twitter page extending from the phone’s body and back.
A very look at the video, and you will notice that the camera is waterproof and also immediately retracts into the phone when it is dropped. This smartphone camera design is a first of its kind, with a 50mm marking.

Samsung will soon be releasing a huge 200-megapixel camera for its smartphone. The company announced the “ISPCELL HP1” sensor with 0.64μm pixels. This is currently the industry’s first 200MP based camera.
The South Korean company initially announced this technology in 2015, reducing colour crosstalk between pixels by placing a physical barrier that allows small-sized pixels to achieve colour fidelity.
This camera’s image sensor uses an all-directional focusing Dual pixel Pro technology with two photodiodes in a single 1.0μm pixel. Now that’s a lot of professional photography terminologies.
These markings on the Oppo camera shows that the sensor is 1/1.56 inches with an aperture of f/2.4, one of a kind. Interestingly, the retracting camera setup is very different from pop up cameras on rival phones.
Oppo’s annual Inno Day event will happen on December 14 and 15 of next week. The tech company will be announcing different technologies and concepts before they go into production next year 2022.
