Nigerian cinematographer Abdulazeez Greene aka Abula, has opened up about his marriage to skit maker Apaokagi Maryam aka Taaooma.
The pair announced their engagement in October 2020. However, not many of their fans seemed to be aware of their wedding until January 2022, when Taaooma celebrated their first anniversary together.
In a chat with TheCable Lifestyle, Abula said it was their decision not to publicise their marriage.
“We’re married, we got married on January 23, 2021. I don’t know if I should call it low-key or not, but I know that we are married. There’s nothing low-key about it. Sometimes, the things that keep you out should be kept coded,” he said.
During the interview, the cinematographer also said his strict work ethic has been instrumental when dealing with his female admirers.
“As for the vixens and models, they know me, they know how strict I’m when it comes to work. I’m a friend to all of them but there’s a limit to the kind of friendship we keep,” he said.

Abula talked about his experience while shooting and directing the visuals for “Ogo Forever”, a song by Portable.
Speaking on the project, the short filmmaker described the “Zazoo Zeh” crooner as “a great guy”.
“He (Portable) is a great guy and he is not really what he appears to be. He’s very smart and he knows what he is doing,” he said.
In the interview Abula also expressed his displeasure for “s*x for roles” in the entertainment industry.
“It (s*x-for-role) is a very terrible act. Unfortunately it happens in all industries, trust me,” he said.
“I think film and skit making industries are gaining more attention because we have rampant cases of people asking for this thing (s*x) there.
“I think there would be change since people are now calling out alleged abusers and there is much awareness. With time, the situation will change.”
