Microsoft is refreshing its Xbox Series X dashboard interface with a new 4K dashboard. The Redmond based company made the announcement recently, via Its Insider program.
Basically, its UI ie its interface is getting a refresh. Before this, the Series X dashboard was displaying at a full high definition (1080p) resolution. Weirdly, for a console that could output games in 4k resolution.
The Xbox team said “This change means Home, Guide, and other areas of the UI will be displayed in a higher native resolution for increased sharpness and text readability,”
This upgrade seems to be only available for the Series X, its counterpart Series s can’t output native 4k resolution games, only videos.
This might change as Microsoft is currently testing the new 4K dashboard interface on its Flagship Series X.
Microsoft Xbox cloud gaming platform “xCloud” will soon be available on your Windows PC via the Xbox app. Although this feature is in testing for its insider program.

Its revamped Xbox app now has xCloud baked in. The web-based gaming platform can only be accessible using a compatible controller. The controllers are either connected via Bluetooth or USB to play games from your Windows 10 PC.
Jason Beaumont, Partner director of Xbox experiences says this to say:
“We’ve also added some new features to help you get started, including easy-to-access information on controller and network status, “social features to stay connected with friends, and the ability to invite people – even those also playing on cloud without the game installed – to join you in a game,”
Microsoft’s new Xbox app now has a new “cloud games ” segment, that displays all the games available for xCloud on the web. If you are not an Xbox insider tester, you can try out xCloud at Xbox play to try it out.
Beta testing is currently available in 22 different countries, insiders have accessed the feature through the “Windows Gaming” preview in the Xbox Insider Hub app.
Microsoft has been going strong on its Xbox insider testing program, it recently teased a new night mode for gamers. This will dim their controller LEDs, TV screen and its power button.
The new 4K dashboard refresh will certainly look stunning when displayed on an Ultra HD 4K Tv. Microsoft gamers are in for a serious treat in the coming months.
