Panasonic has joined the quirky wearable gang with its own neck speakers, although these renders look so bulky. Panasonic is calling them the SC-GN01 or SoundSlayer WIGSS. The acronym means (Wearable Immersive Gaming Speaker System) that comes with Majestic Augumted Gaming Environment Sound System.
This neck speaker is equipped with four full-range speakers, which will create a ”360-degree pocket of sound around the head” users “feel enveloped by sound in all directions” according to Panasonic.
This neck speaker will retail for $275 and be available in October. Shipping with the speaker is active noise cancelling mics. Other specifications about the new speaker are not yet known
In quick comparison with another is Sony’s neckband speakers, for remote workers retailing for $150.
Sony calls them the SRS-NB10 continuing its history of the weird naming lineup for its products. The company is positioning this speaker as a device for people working from home.

This sony neckband has a dedicated mute button for calls, separate volume, and power buttons. For calls, it has a precise voice pickup technology for better clarity when users speak. Sony boasts that this neckband will last up to 20 hours of battery life with the new USB type C quick charging capabilities.
If you are concerned about weight, the Sony neckband is made from premium materials, lightweight, flexible and durable. They weigh approximately 113 grams.
Another weird feature is that the Panasonic speaker might not have wireless technology. That means gamers would need a wired USB A or C cable for audio connection. Huh?
