Razer’s New Multiplatform Barracuda X Wireless Headset Has Launched

Premium gaming company Razer has launched the Barracuda X wireless headset, for a really low price of $100.

Razer has aggressively priced this headset, probably in a bid to gain some market share in the headset gaming space.

The company is positioning this headset as a multi-platform and mobile headset. It can play on your PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, android tablets, and phones through their USB-C ports and wirelessly.

Unfortunately, this headset doesn’t work wirelessly on Xbox Consoles. The Microsoft-owned company has its own wireless protocol, which this headset doesn’t support.

The Barracuda X wireless headset is reinforced with Razer’s TriForce 40mm Drivers, and an Ergonomic 250 grams design. It has a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 Hz, an impedance of 1 kHz, as well as 96dbBSPL sensitivity.

The Barracuda X wireless headset has an Oval Earcup design.

It measures 60 mn by 40 mm diameters; and an ultra-soft Flowknit memory foam earpad.

For sound, the wireless headset has passive noise cancellation. 100 Hz – 10 Hz microphone frequency response; and 7.1 Surround Sound available only on Windows 10 64-bit PCs. Some of the physical features of the headset include volume up and down control. A mic mute and on button; as well as a detachable hyper clear cardioid microphone style.

The Barracuda X wireless headset also has included in its box a 1.5M USB-A to USB-C charging and also extension cables.

A 3.5mm audio combo cable with a jack for a wired listening experience.

For connectivity, this headset doesn’t use Bluetooth, but a wireless USB-C dongle that outperforms Bluetooth.
