Bommarillu Bhaskar’s “Most Eligible Bachelor” spotlights the issue of arranged marriages just when you think the world has moved past that tradition.
Akhil Akkineni (Harsha) is a software engineer in America who comes to India for 20 days, to find a girl to marry. His quest leads him to a stand-up comedian Pooja Hegde (Vibha) who he falls hopelessly in love with. Harsha is determined to have Vibha as his wife, even though she is a bit more worldly than him.

“Most Eligible Bachelor” is impressive and you can’t help but fall in love with the connection of the main characters.
However this film had its shortcomings. First it is observed that Vibha isn’t fluent in Telegu, the language used in the film. Her dialogue with Harsha sometimes loses some of its spontaneity as she has to cover up with English most of the time. Also her conversastion as a standup comedian isn’t as funny as the film portrays her to be.
As every Indian film, watch time is 148 minutes and laced with a lot of dances and singing. Well, you have the option to skip those part if you are not in the mood for them.
Overall, this film has a message for both single and married people on the need to pursue romance in their relationship.
