Best in class streaming interface Roku has updated its midrange streaming lineup with 4K and 4K+. There is the Roku Streaming Stick 4K, and Roku Streaming Stick 4K+. These new streaming devices support 4k resolution and HDR for Dolby Vision and HDR10+.
The Roku Streaming Stick 4k costs just $50 while the 4K+ variant costs $70. The major difference between these devices is an improved Roku Voice Remote Pro. This rechargeable remote offers hands-free voice control and a find my remote feature.
Right in the guts of these sticks are new processors, and Wi-Fi speeds; which the company says “offers up to 2x faster Wi-Fi speeds.” These processors are quad-core powered and are 30% faster than the previous generation streaming sticks.
Roku has been a huge part of the US family consumption market due to its affordable prices and latest technologies. Mark Ely, vice president of retail product strategy at Roku said “The Roku Streaming Stick has been a fan favourite for years, and we’ve redesigned it in the Roku Streaming Stick 4K to be faster and more powerful than ever,”
“Whatever your streaming needs, we’ve got an incredible product lineup that features innovations from our singular focus on the TV streaming business.”

Rival Amazon recently announced an upgrade to its Fire TV stick, now known as the Fire TV Stick 4K Max. The streaming device has an improved Wi-Fi 6 connection and a faster processor for performance. Interestingly, all of this is available for just $55.
Fire TV Stick 4k Max has a design refresh, with branded shortcut buttons for streaming apps. This Fire TV platform is super competitive in prices relative to other brands like Roku, Apple TV etc.
Another upgrade to the streaming stick is the Wi-Fi 6. The faster data connection would be able to harness its Luna cloud gaming service. Amazon’s Fire TV Stick 4K still supports HDR format Dolby Vision despite its budget price.
The newest midrange streaming sticks from Roku will be available for sale in mid-October in the following countries Canada, Mexico, United States and other Latino countries.
