See All The New Updates In Apple’s iOS 14.3 Update Including The ProRAW Feature For iPhone 12 Pro And iPhone 12 Pro Max

The iOS 14.3 update has arrived and it contains the ProRAW feature that was promised to iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max owners when Apple introduced the devices. It also comes with other interesting updates and new services.

Other features in the iOS 14.3 update include search improvements for the Apple TV app, support for Fitness Plus, Apple’s new subscription-based workout service, and the recently announced AirPods Max headphones.

Although iPhones could previously capture RAW images, it meant giving up the advantages of all the computational phenom that happens when shooting a standard image with the phone’s camera app.

The introduction of ProRAW is, however, designed to address the trade-off. ProRAW combines the computational advantages of Apple’s image processing with the post-processing flexibility of a RAW file.

So iOS 14.3 comes with the ProRAW feature ‘on’ switch for iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max. The feature will only work on those two devices and no other iPhone. After installing the update, you’ll be able to capture ProRAW images and edit them in the camera and photo apps.

The update also makes it easier to customise app icons. This is because the home screen shortcuts no longer need to open the Shortcuts app. Other iOS 14.3 improvements include the ability to record video at 25fps, updates to Apple TV app search, and a new Apple TV Plus tab. There’s also a front-facing camera mirroring feature in still photos for iPhone 6S and newer, and new Cycle Tracking features in the Health app.

This update also fixes a bug that was responsible for some users not getting notifications for new incoming messages.
