Google has finally launched its website and tools to provide users with verified COVID-19 information after its subsidiary, Verily released one for the California Bay Area. This new website is available for everyone in the US as against that of Verily that caters to only a specific location.
Google released the educational website on Saturday 21st March 2020. On its right side, users can access various links to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This provides them with information about COVID-19 in the United States as well as symptoms and testing.
Also, for coronavirus advisory information, condition overview and questions & answers, there is a link to the World Health Organization page.
The Google website provides short information on such things as overview, symptoms, prevention and treatment. Interestingly, under the treatment, it mentions that there is no treatment for coronavirus yet. Instead, it says:
“If you develop a fever, cough, and have difficulty breathing, promptly seek medical care. Call in advance and tell your health provider of any recent travel or recent contact with travelers.”

Under the safety & prevention tips section, the website provides YouTube videos that educate users on how to protect themselves. There are also some videos specific for older citizens as well.
The data & insights section provides a map to see affected areas. This website provides resources via YouTube videos that will help people who are staying at home.
Some of these videos include work tips and cooking tips. There are also additional resources streamlined for individuals, educators and businesses. It helps stay connected and informed, move your classroom online and help keep your business running.
Google.org is committing $50 million to the global COVID-19 response. Additionally, everyone who wants to donate can use the coronavirus relief link to do so.
