Sony has just released details including pricing and launch date of the Xperia 5 II. It is the successor of the first Xperia 5 and it has some delightful new specifications.
In September 2019, Sony had launched a new device to join the Xperia flagship series. Now, it has announced an upgraded version of the device and it will cost £799/€899 when it is available. Below are some of the things you should know about the device.
Unlike the Xperia 5, Sony Xperia 5 II will support 5G network connectivity as it runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 flagship chipset. This is one of the latest processors in the Android smartphone market and its appeal will likely attract customers to the device.
It uses a 6.1-inch FHD+ display and since this is an HDR OLED screen, its performance will be powerful. Yet, Sony still adds 120Hz refresh rate capabilities to this screen, making it even more appealing.

- Primary lens is 24mm
- Ultrawide lens is 16mm
- Telephoto lens is 70mm
In addition, it uses an 8MP selfie camera and comes with the popular 3.5mm audio jack. The Sony Xperia 5 II has a memory space combination of 8GB/128GB and users can extend this with a MicroSD. It uses a 4,000mAh battery, which will undoubtedly drain faster with the phone’s 120Hz refresh rate running.
There are rumours that Sony will release the device on 17th September 2020, while others are saying it will be available in October 2020.
