Sinach has received three nominations from The Gospel Music Association (GMA), organisers of the Dove Awards for her hit song “Waymaker”.
An excited Sinach took to her Instagram page to break the news uploading a post by BusinessDay that reveals her hit song has received several nods for the gospel award.
The Christian singer who is the first African artist to top the Billboard Christian Songwriters Chart earlier this year with the same song scored three nominations at the 51st Annual GMA Dove Music Awards for “Way Maker“.

Another first-timer on the Dove awards is Kanye West, nominated in three categories for his “Jesus is King” gospel album. Sinach’s ‘Waymaker released in 2016, hit new heights of popularity following performances by The Elevation Worship and other Christian rock bands.

Sinach is one of the most successful gospel artists in Nigeria. She joins a long list of international nominees at this year’s award including Hillsong Worship, Kirk Franklin, and Jonathan McReynolds. Other nominees are Kanye West, Gloria Gaynor, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, and more.
Winners will be announced on TBN on October 30. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the show will consist of pre-recorded performances and acceptance speeches.
