The judge, O. A. Oresanya of a high court in Lagos state presided over the matter on Tuesday, January 31st.

A tape explicitly showing intimate moments between Oxlade and a woman went viral online on February 9, 2022.

The lady featured in the viral tape had filed a suit demanding ₦20 million in damages.

She said Oxlade recorded their s*xual acts without her consent, violating her fundamental right to dignity.

During the court sitting, Oresanya said the singer leaked the tape online in a “despicable, horrendous, distasteful, and classless” move.

Oresanya reprimanded Oxlade for “treating the judicial process with disrespect” by failing to appear in court.

“The action and attitude of the respondent, who is said to be a celebrity, is despicable, horrendous, distasteful, and classless,” the judge said.

“The respondent is admonished strongly to act with utmost circumspection in his relationship with fellow humans, especially the opposite s*x. What goes around comes around. I need not say more.”

E. T. Idemudia and O. S. Mabekoje, the legal representative for the claimant, and U. R. Michael, Oxlade’s legal counsel, agreed to opt for an amicable resolution via a consent judgment.

In the verdict, the judge said Oxlade is to pay damages to the tune of ₦5 million to the claimant in two installments of ₦2 million and ₦3million.
