Spotify is down and experiencing a widespread outage at the moment. The company says via it Twitter page that it is looking into the issue affecting countries across Europe and beyond.

The outage began for many at around 4:15 AM ET or 10:15 WAT. “Something’s not quite right, and we’re looking into it. Thanks for your reports!” its Twitter post read.

This is not the first outage that Spotify will experience this year.  In August 2020 the music streaming service experienced an outage because it forgot to renew its TLS certificate.

The service went down for an hour at the time, however, the TLS certificate is not the cause of this more recent outage according to The Verge.

The service also experienced problems much earlier in 2020 during a broader Facebook iOS SDK problem. A Facebook SDK bug caused the Spotify app to crash on mobile devices. This outage is also not connected to the Facebook SDK as both its desktop and mobile users are experiencing downtime.

The company then tweeted 15 minutes after the original post that it had made a few adjustments and thus its services should be up again. “We’ve made a few tweaks backstage, so everything should be back to normal,” the tweet read.
