TikTok has announced that it is giving parents more control over how their children are using the short video platform. The new “Family Safety Mode” will enable the TikTok Family Safety Mode. It also enables them to limit their ability to send and receive mentions and restrict content.
With the new Family Safety Mode, parents are allowed to determine time limits for their child each day. Allowing for intervals including 40 minutes, 60 minutes and 90 minutes. Parents are also able to limit or turn off direct messages and restrict content they feel are not appropriate for all age groups.
Parents who want to enable the Family Safety Mode have to first create their own account on the app. After that, their accounts will be then linked to the teen’s account.
