TikTok has introduced a paywalled content feature, called Series, for creators to make money from fans willing to pay and the videos can be as long as 20 minutes too.

Announcing the program via a blog post on Tuesday, the viral video sharing platform said Series can hold up to 80 videos.

“Series enables eligible creators to post Collections of premium content behind a paywall which viewers can purchase for access. One Series can include up to 80 videos, each up to 20 minutes long, giving people a new, longer format to watch their favorite creators and content,” it announced.

Every creator gets to choose how much their Series should cost but TikTok advices that it should reflect the value of the content. It gives viewers a way to support their favourite creators directly.

When you pay for access, you can watch premium Series through direct in-video links or through a creator’s profile.

To put to rest the fear that it gives a breeding ground for adult content like there is on OnlyFans, TikTok added that Series content must obey Community Guidelines, which bans adult n_dity and s_xual activities.

To start, Series is only available to select creators but TikTok says that it will open applications to join the program in the coming months.
