Tiwa Savage goes on Cool FM and talks about the new developments in her life and career. The “49-99” singer has recently gone through a bunch of transitions. And then she went on the Mid-day Oasis radio show to talk about it.
Firstly, Tiwa Savage addressed her public image. The radio presenter asked when and why she switched from the “good girl” image to her current public image. Tiwa talked about how she had checked all the boxes in her life from school to marriage to having a baby.

She then made reference to the controversy surrounding her marriage after T-Billz cheated and she split from him. She recalled how everyone attacked her even after she had done everything right. Tiwa Savage said it was then she decided to just be herself because, at the end of the day, it really did not matter.
Tiwa described the switch from Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records to Universal Records. She admitted that she was scared of the transition and felt different being “just a number”. But she said she embraced the challenge that came with independence and being in a more structured environment.
She also cited Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy as a motivating factor for signing an international recording contract. Apparently, her drive was the desire to meet up to her male counterparts in the Nigerian music scene. Tiwa Savage went on to explain the details of her recording deal and how her music was managed.
