Top Nigerian actresses, Mercy Aigbe and Toyin Abraham have taken to Instagram to solicit for funds for ailing actress Kemi Afolabi,. Earlier this month, Afolabi opened up about her struggles with Lupus disease.
In an interview with, Chude Jideonwo, the actress revealed she was diagnosed with lupus and given five years to live. She tearfully noted that she didn’t know how much she had left.
“I have lupus. It’s not curable. You just have to take medications for the rest of your life. Make sure you are with your loved ones. At least, you still have up to five years.” Afolabi said, quoting her doctor.
She noted that she paid ₦1.2m on treatment that didn’t work.
In showing support for her colleague in the industry, actress Toyin Abraham has announced the opening of a Gofundme account help Kemi Afolabi financially.

Actress Mercy Aigbe also posted the same video calling on her fans to show support for Kemi Afolabi.
Aigbe dropped the actress’ account number urging her followers to visit the GoFundme page.
Just last week, Kemi Afolabi called out a scammer impersonating her on Facebook. The Yoruba movie star actress mentioned that “malicious individuals” were taking advantage of her sickness to defraud people.
She also decried the use of her name and image against her consent on Facebook as she warned her fans to beware of impersonators.
