Toyin Abraham Flays Lagos State Government Over Kidnap And Tragic Death Of Bamise

Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has flayed the Lagos State Government over the killing of Bamise Ayanwole.

Bamise boarded the state-owned transit bus (BRT) was kidnapped inside it and later turned up dead.

Toyin Abraham mirroring the thoughts of many Nigerians took to her Instagram to ask the state why they have not installed CCTV cameras in their buses.

“It is sad enough that Nigeria is not safe but to think that a place or thing considered as property like BRT is now considered a dangerous place should all get all of us concerned. But I have a few questions for Lagos State Government, why are the BRT buses not fitted with CCTV cameras?” she wrote.

What measure have you put in place since this incident that made you assure Lagosians that the BRT buses are now safe? Are we truly safe or your speech is just government rhetoric, telling us what we want to hear?”

She also sent her condolences to the family of late Bamise while advising Lagosians to be extra careful.

Lagosians, please be careful, we cannot move about like everything is okay. Things are not okay if we are not safe inside government buses.”

Bamise was able to send distress messages to her friend shortly before her kidnap

“And to the family of Ayanwole Oluwabamise I sympathize with you. Some of us will reach out to see how you can go through this phase with some measure of ease-no easy way in grieve. May God truly console you. This is such a sad incident!”

Bamise had sent distress messages to her friend and family from inside a BRT bus she boarded from Chevron on Saturday 26th February at 7 pm. She was declared missing after she didn’t arrive at her designated bus stop, Oshodi.

She was able to send the BRT bus number to her friend before her phone was reportedly seized by the kidnappers. Bamise was found dead a week after with some of her body parts reportedly missing.
