Actress and producer Toyin Abraham recently revealed she only started making money from acting four years ago.
The actress whose career has spanned over two decades made the reveal during an interview with Sodas ‘N’ Popcorn. Toyin Abraham said it was her love for acting that kept her going even when she wasn’t making money. While crediting veteran actress Bukky Wright for introducing her to the industry, she said she only began raking in good funds when she entered a partnership with FilmOne.
“It was not until I met my manager BigSam who introduced me to FilmOne that I began making money from acting. This was about four years ago,”
Toyin Abraham made her first film with FilmOne “Alakada Reloaded” in 2017. She’s gone on to make more films including “Fate of Alakada’, ‘Ghost and the Tout’ and its forthcoming sequel.

The actress recently divulged there’s money in the filmmaking business. She did so while responding to rapper Rugged Man’s comments which seemed to suggest that only females in the acting business make money in shady ways.
“I get paid in millions of naira for gigs. As a matter of fact, I just paid for a very good car worth millions of naira. And at the same time, I know a lot of men in Nollywood who are doing extraordinarily well and paid in millions.
The fact that most of these men choose not to make noise on social media do not in any way mean that they are second class citizens in this industry.” Abrahams said.
Rugged Man’s comment came after actress Destiny Etiko bought a luxury, Prado SUV. Toyin Abrahams chided Rugged Man, saying men needed to stop attributing women’s success to their s*xual prowess.
“We need to stop attributing every woman’s success to her s*xual prowess with men. Women deserve the success they have as much as men without attributing it to their s*xuality.”
