Popular American singer, Trey Songz, was recently arrested by the police for trespassing, resisting arrest, and assaulting a police officer. This is a low-grade felony.

On Sunday 24th January., The singer was allegedly involved in a physical altercation with a police officer during an American football game between Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills.

A video obtained from Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday shows Songz and the officer in a struggle. The singer throws a punch at the officer’s head and gets him in a headlock, but then the officer pins Songz to a seat.

A witness stated that the whole thing started when Trey was heckled by some fans a few rows behind him and he asked them to stop.

The officer approached and without warning, went after him. The witness said Songz defended himself when the officer got physical.

In the video, fans shouted at the officer, telling him to get off Trey Songz until additional officers arrived. Fans were calling on the officer to be arrested. Once backup got there, they were able to separate Songz and the policeman but they put Songz in handcuffs. The singer is currently in custody, but it’s unclear if he’s being booked for anything or simply detained. So far the singer’s representatives are yet to comment.
