Kanye West found himself in Twitter detention after he faced the same penalty on Instagram for similar violations.
Twitter restricted rapper Kanye West’s account shortly after his fanfare return to the platform over an anti-Semitic post. The same reason had made Instagram apply restrictions to his page earlier.
West had tweeted: “I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE. he funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew also You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda.”
The original Tweet was taken down before the restriction was then applied. For more context, the rapper was still in the aftermath of his Instagram suspension.
He had shared a screenshot of a chat between himself and colleague Diddy, whose real name is Sean Combs, and alleged that Jewish people were controlling the “I’ll Be Missing You” crooner.

While the post may have looked harmless, a commentary by American Jewish Committee shows how dangerous the Instagram post was.

In response to the initial Instagram restriction, West, who prefers to be called Ye these days, Tweeted an old photo of himself and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg with the caption: “Look at this Mark. How you gone kick me off Instagram. You used to be my n****.”
It was his second Tweet since November 2020, and he got a reply from soon-to-be Twitter owner Elon Musk, who welcomed him back. His first return Tweet was a photo of a cap that says 2024.
Kanye West has over 31 million followers on Twitter and 18 million+ on Instagram. His accounts were not taken down, and he was not banned from either platform. Instead, they were placed on read-only, which means that other users can continue to see his posts, but he cannot share new ones until the period is over. Usually, these restrictions last between 12 hours and seven days.
