Ubisoft had earlier released its own backward compatibility list, pointing out which older PS4 games won’t run on the PS5. The game developer flagged the titles on its own website but now, the company has now taken it down due to its inaccuracy.

“We have pulled the Ubisoft Connect article and forum post regarding backward compatibility for the time being as there may be inaccuracies involving the Ubisoft titles that will be playable on PS5,” an Ubisoft spokesperson said in an email statement.

The company had, in its first list, said these nine games would not be backward compatible with the PS5; Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, Assassin’s Creed: Chronicles Trilogy Pack, Risk, Assassin’s Creed: Chronicles Russia, Assassin’s Creed: Chronicles India, Star Trek: Bridge Crew, Werewolves Within, Space Junkies, and Assassin’s Creed: Chronicles China.

These games are interestingly not on Sony’s PS5 backward compatibility list. The list has ten titles that Sony says will not work on the new console. Ubisoft now says that it would have the correct list soon. However, all of the titles released on the Xbox One will be compatible with Microsoft’s Xbox Series X and S consoles, according to Ubisoft.

Sony had previously said that the PS5 will support an ‘overwhelming majority’ of PS4 titles. The company however expects the titles to work with a few limitations.
