Virgin Galactic Reveals First Space Tourist Lounge

Imagine arriving from Space and having a beautiful arrival and take-off lounge. This is what Virgin Galactic offers as it plans to embark on commercial flights to space.

 

Virgin’s spaceflight company, Virgin Galactic just showcased the world’s first space tourist lounge. The company got reporters to visit its newly completed ground-floor space tourists lounge. The lounge, called Gaia Lounge, is described as a lounge where space tourists along with their relatives and friends can hang out.

 

Tourists will also get the opportunity to mingle with Virgin Galactic pilots, air hostesses over meals. On the upper chamber of the lounge are the pilot lounge and mission briefing room. However, the Gaia operation located on the ‘Barista Island’ is Virgin Galactic’s spaceship-like Space building. The facility is at a state-owned facility in an empty desert in New Mexico, America.

 

 

The building is situated next to the White Sands Missile Range for Virgin Galactic. In fact, the company’s CEO, George Whitesides said: “We are graduating the facility into commercial service. We want to have this be a remarkable historic facility that when people arrive at they feel, ‘Yes, this is the place that I’m going to be going to space from.'”

 

British Billionaire businessman and owner of Virgin, Richard Branson said the company was making New Mexico its home. Virgin Galactic says the Spaceport America’s Gateway to Space is now open for business. However, the company is now making plans to begin operating its first commercial flights to space.

 

Meanwhile, Virgin Galactic was in Space for the first time in December 2018. They took a second trip to space in February 2019.
