Virtual Weddings: Why Wait When You Can Say “I do” On Zoom?

The ongoing global pandemic has caused the way of life to veer off what we used to know it. Before now, weddings were an elaborate affair.

 

From shopping to hall venues to catering to music; lots of planning went into making a wedding ceremony a success.

A pandemic caused by Covid-19 is however in the way of many lovers who’d have been saying “I do” to their heart-throbs this season.

 

And more worrisome is the fact no one knows when it’s ending; a dark cloud of uncertainty no doubt.

But do you really have to wait for the pandemic to end before you seal your nuptials? We think not. Let’s explore the silver lining in this dark cloud.

 

It may sound incredulous but couples are really getting married via online video platforms.

 

Apps like Skype and most predominantly, Zoom are furnishing people with mediums to hold meetings and collaborate despite the Coronavirus induced lockdown.

 

Right now, not just meetings, but actual marriages are being conducted via Zoom as well.

Instead of postponing wedding dates, couples are taking advantage of this video conferencing app to say their vows in front of family and friends who log on online.

Dressed to the nines, she showed up to the virtual event in an aso-oke overcoat and midi skirt.  She accessorized with a round-tipped hat, reflective sunglasses, and a face mask made out of the same fabric as her outfit to complete the drip.

 

Now that’s a high fashion queen right there and we stan very hard.

 

This proves that nothing really changes, well except of course everyone is now attending through a screen instead of otherwise physical presence.

Zoom weddings obliterate all of the hassles that come with planning a wedding. With little or no financial cost, you can be married within the hour.

 

All you’ll need is your partner, your photographer to capture the sweet moments and you’re all set to begin your forever journey.

So we did a thing yesterday morning! We had a quarantine wedding in my parent’s backyard. The silver lining was over 100 people and the pastor were able to join us on Zoom with only a few days notice. We had to move the Mexico wedding to December, so we decided to do it at the court and then that closed on Monday. We had no idea what to do, but the love between us and our families prevailed! 1 whole week from today my life changed forever..Despite how crazy this world has gotten and how strict laws are on us i was able to enjoy one of the very best days of my life. I got to exchange vows to always love and deeply respect my very best friend and now husband. This Corona virus has affected so many people and things all around us in many ways, but couldn’t stop true Love. With the help of our families and Jehovah we had the best time and got to share our special day with family and friends through zoom. So where there is a will there is a way! Trust me! I feel like Nito and I are living through an Epic movie. I dont mind though its fun! We will have a great story to tell.
