Controversial Nigerian rapper Olanrewaju Ogunmefun, better known by his stage name Vector, recently released the video for the long-awaited rap anthem, “Alaye Jor Jor Jor”. The song comes off the recently released album titled “Vibes Before Teslim: The Journey To Self Discovery”.
This song emerged during one of the most controversial, long-standing rap beefs in Africa. According to the rapper, Vector, “Alaye Jor Jor Jor” centres around self-pride. The theme elaborates the crucial part it plays in a human’s self-discovery.
Speaking about the track, Vector said:
“Pride and ego is a thing every human being has, especially as a rapper. It is actually okay to have self-pride, but you have to be able to defend it and take responsibility for every action you take as an Individual.”

Vector, through this song, is advocating for the pride of one’s heritage. He says, “Be proud of where you come from.” As seen in the video, Vector expresses his pride in Lagos Island.
