WhatsApp constantly adds new features and functionalities to its platform. This time, the company is introducing a couple of new features to its Android and Business apps. The update brings bug fixes to the app and makes changes to the dark mode, which has been under development for quite some time.
Update For WhatsApp’s Android App
Bug fixes: WhatsApp has fixed bugs in its beta app for Android. According to WABetaInfo, the beta version 2.19.365 of WhatsApp’s Android app came with a number of bugs to the app with the most severe one of them leading to the app crashing after the splash screen. The Facebook-owned company has fixed this issue in beta version 2.19.366.
New emoji skin: Whatsapp also added new emoji skins for six emoji that show a man and woman in a wheelchair and those using a stick to walk.
Wallpaper: WhatsApp users can also change the wallpaper in their Android apps by visiting the Chat Settings. Now in its beta app, the feature has moved to a different Display sub-setting under the Chat Setting section. This makes the distinction a bit more clear.

Dark Theme: In addition to the above, WhatsApp also made changes to the app’s dark theme, which is still under development. There’s a new Theme option under the Display sub-setting within the Chats Settings. This option allows users to set the theme of their app which includes three options; light, dark and system default (for phones running on Android 10).
However, the media platform has not announced when it would finally roll out the dark theme feature on its Android or iOS apps.
WhatsApp has also added a Cards feature to its Business beta app on Android. This is available with the beta update version 2.19.131. The company is also planning to add three new cards under the app’s home section which was added in beta version 2.19.117.
These cards are to contain informative notice about what settings users can configure in their WhatsApp Business account. The first card allows users to manage their sent messages, the second, to manage their profiles while the third card, enables users to manage their catalog.
