WhatsApp brings a new control feature to voice notes that lets you control the message you are listening to from the top of the app. Now, if you are listening to a voice message and navigate away from the particular chat, the voice message continues playing at the top of the WhatsApp screen. You can choose to pause it, fast-forward, rewind or close it entirely.
This changes what used to be attainable when you had to drag the screen down to see the voice note you were listening to. It makes accessing voice messages easier as well.
To Send a voice message on WhatsApp, here is what you need to do:
- Open an individual or group chat.
- Tap and hold the microphone and start speaking.
- Once finished, remove your finger from the microphone. The voice message will automatically send.
- While recording a voice message, you can slide left to cancel it.

In related news, WhatsApp is partnering with the Indian government to provide digital identity documents in-app. What this means is that Indian citizens will be able to access various official documents via WhatsApp. This has been seen as part of Meta’s plans to make the chat platform completely indispensable in the country of over 1.3 billion people and 487 million+ users.
Also, for the world at large, the chat platform has been rolling out improvements every other week to make it better.
